    Anyone Know of this race?

I've been reading "Kinder Scout-portrait of a mountain" by Roly Smith. There's a brief mention of fell running and a small photo of runners doing the "Crookstone Crashout" I wondered if anyone knew if it is still going and what the route was.

It's a Dark Peak club race I think? Go on their website and search for it and there's loads of results.

Yes its a Dark Peak race. Look on the website under results for details. If you look on the Tracks link there's loads of up loaded routes.
Never under estimate the power of the darkside of the fells.

A Dark Peak Classic with great history

    there are 2 versions....

    Crookstone Crashout Direct:

Rowlee Bridge to Crookstone Knoll to Blackden trig and back by same route.

The longer version starts at Rowlee bridge but goes via a longer route always slightly different some times to the gate at YHA in Edale or the holly bush in Blackden back via the trig and crookstone. lots of variations but all tough.
