Born in 68, the 70's for me were
great, pretty much unaware of political strife etc at the time, it was all fishing and playing in the fields for me, remember being paraded around the neighbours s I'd got so dirty hiding from the police (in a white mini van, remember them) on our local building site (we were only playing in the houses, throwing bricks out on the windows, trying to start up cement mixers, typical 70's kids stuff), Me giving it 'leave it mam' thinking they were going to come down the road and spot me.

Thanks all, lots of 70s stuff but not very much that U20s will ever have heard of? And a lot of things that were more associated with the 80s. Wiki's 1970s page has a lot.

    Here's a really good one:
    Pompidou Centre

    Raleigh Choppers
    Mass-market paperback books, apparently
    Microwaves

    70s Wallpaper
    70s tableware/furnishings
Ladderax (originally 1964; my parents still have it)
    Lava lamps
World Trade Centre & the CN Tower
    Houses like on Brookside
Terrorist attacks (especially Palestinian-related and far-left like Baader-Meinhof)
    Plane hijackings
    Green movement
    Hippies
    Second Wave Feminism

    Did no-one mention The Godfather?

I'm not trying to be superior on the classical music, I don't know enough to associate any with the 70s, apart from the Star Wars theme (& trends in film music) which started me thinking on this.
