The original question is an interesting one.....and it would be equivalent to someone asking those of us under 20 in the 70's what cultures we associated with the 1930's. Which, I guess would have included art deco, Frank Lloyd Wright, Clark Gable and Laurel and Hardy. Strikes, Empire and Gangsters.

Clean back streets is one thing I recall. Here is a picture of me and a friend just before I went to Jupiter. My Mum gave me a negative to copy the other day and this was the outcome. A friend of mine clocked the picture on facebook and said "An incongruous image Mark, the freckled face of a cherub in a space helmet atop the body and legs of a street urchin. Love the hole in your left trouser leg and black plimsoles. Kids nowadays eh"

Photo taken in 1976, pre Star Wars. Click on it to make it bigger.

I love the embarrassment of 1970s wedding photographs btw.

ABBA surely (I would guess) would top the list if a poll of U20's was undertaken.
Was embedded in Stolly's list, and maybe others.

The helmet was on short term loan till I got back from Jupiter. It belonged to Paul on my right hand side. I really liked it and I can really sympathise with your jealousy. Blinkin eck, you had a Captain Scarlet hat with built in mic. You got a picture of that?
