Great! There's about 150 entries at the present so plenty of slack for registering on the day. Wear trail shoes (no need for mudclaws) as most of the ground is pretty rugged. I can imagine some road runners being discomfited by the limestone hardcore that's been used to fill potholes. No stiles but plenty of different surfaces.
Here's the route:

John Schofield's UK results site has more details. It's on Runner's World and Fetcheveryone too. See you there. 'Ave a word if you come. I'm on the mic.

Think we walked the last couple of miles of that recently as part of a Kirkby Overblow > Spofforth loop. Really nice chips from the van in Spofforth on a Tuesday evening! (or was it Thursday?). Nice countryside too ;-)
Will try and make it, family commitments and injuries permitting.
Not going to make it this year but it's a good race and if you're lucky you may even get interviewed by GD - hope the mic's working properly this year
I'm doing this again this year, last year I made a balls of it by forgetting my inhaler (which I usually take before a race) and turning up late so a mad dash to the start line, no proper warm up and a measly 53mins
This year I'm a little better prepared so looking forward to it.
I am thinking of running this as I am camping nearby this weekend... I have never ran this race before, would it be OK to wear XC studs, i.e. innovates and will be OK to enter on the day ? Thanks.....
See post 4 above, Karl, from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
You could wear studs if you wanted but there is a few roady sort of sections and you shouldn't need such aggressive grip anyway as the uphill sections are fairly gravelly and the rest is fields so should be fine with trail shoes.
AFAIK they take entries on the day up to 12.30 provided the limit hasn't been met already.
Thanks Brotherton Lad / Rob, I don't have any trail shoes.. I will probably take my studs, racing flats and lightweight trainers and have a run around to check out the terrain.
