    Kimetto marathon WR

Awesome feat of athleticism by any measure for Dennis Kimetto to knock such a significant amount of time off the marathon WR. Any bets on when the record will next fall & who it might be to? Berlin seems to have something about it, judging by recent years. Anyone reckon a sub-2hr is possible or even likely? Anyhow, congratulations to Mr Kimetto!

I'm sure I read somewhere that the new record roughly averages out as 150 x 70sec laps of the track. I'd be confident of the first 2, but have to admit i'd be hanging on for the last 148....!!!!

    Great achievement, chapeau indeed!

Think that should be 105 x 400m at 69s pace. Some running ....

    When I read 70 secs/lap I thought I'd have a crack, 69 is pushing it...

Yeah - although now I only have to hang on for 103 laps it's becoming more of an option )

I think Kimetto's pace works out around 4:42/mile - that's assuming evens rather than positive/negative split. Pretty awe inspiring really.
