Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay in Lanzarote, and places to run ? We're heading their for some winter sun and while the other half relaxes I want to use it as a weeks training.
Thanks,
Murph

shame you missed this:

The Canaries as a whole have been busily improving their trails and paths: you could get ideas from this: http://www.walking.demon.co.uk/lanzWalkSpec.htm or here: http://www.walking.demon.co.uk/lanzWalkSpec.htm
....it's all downhill from here.
Cheers Dave, not heading off until March so I shall order a book for some tips. Just booked to stay in Playa Blanca on the back of a quick bit of google earth-ing, looks like a few trails to keep me occupied.
Good going down !!
this site looks quite good too:

as I remember, it's difficult accessing the hillier interior of the island as it's restricted access due to it being an active volcano/national park. If you want to see it, you have to go on an official coach tour.
This looks quite fun, though:

and you can go up the local volcano too:

Next time go to Tenerife and you can go up Pico del Teide (12,198ft).....
