    Acupuncture

    Has anyone here used acupuncture?

I'm struggling to control some symptoms of ulcerative colitis (I'm now not convinced that the diagnosis is correct). The consultant is trying various tests to find a cause for the symptoms that I'm experiencing. I'm desperate to get things back to normal and am contemplating a course of acupuncture privately. In the past I've been sceptical but it's getting to the stage that I'm willing to try anything...

    Cheers.

    Bob

Believe me, there's a lot of 'spasm' going on!

    Thanks.

my Mrs uses it for her back and it certainly works for that. She says to find an "eastern" practitioner as they seem to work better.
    Good luck!

Have you tried worms? It sounds weird, but works for some.

I think it's still not available on the NHS, but this lot do it:

I have had it lots of times, my phyiso who is ex NHS but originally from China uses it on me, seems to work well on muscle problems. The TV program “Trust me I am a Doctor” ran some test using a neuron brain scanner, their conclusion was it does seem to have an effect on healing.

Tahr, the benefit comes from the wee voodoo doll of you that I stick pins in at home on a nightly basis

I've had acupuncture many times. Sometimes it's helped and sometimes it's not. Never had it for bowel problems but I'd say give it a go, what have you got to lose.

I had "dry needling" as part of osteopathy treatment to deal with some ITB trouble - surprisingly good effect, much improve within minutes of the treatment finishing, and I was massively sceptical before having it.
