Great run by Ricky Lightfoot in this race.. He beat many of the US's top ultra runners, guys like Vargo, Krar.. he's showing his pedigree in the ultra distance.

Out in California, TNF hold a few events throughout the US but the California one is without a doubt the most stacked field for a 50 miler in the US with a big prize purse.

Ricky finished 6th and thats just coming back from injury.. top run. Sage Canady won, 15-20 minutes ahead of Ricky.

Worth coming out for if you can afford the flights. I ran the marathon as I didn't land until the early hours so after a 6 hour flight, delayed 3 hours, decided to get some sleep and just race the marathon starting 4 hours after the 50 miler, which shared a chunk of the 50 mile course. Very undulating but untechnical running, almost purely on trails, very muddy after all the rain but for all the ascent times were still quick.
