I used to help marshalling with the IOM Cycle races, that was before I got well into cycling.

Always remember seeing a right cutie on a bike & checking her out, she was well hot & then I noticed she was smiling @ me (sure it was ...http://www.womenscycling.net/2004/Ph...ONeill/06.html as well...) !!! Damn shame they don't have the races over here again like they used to, it was a great social scene. I would have loved to ride in them. & maybe get to ride with some of the fit ladies!!... :-0

Manx cycle week was great. I went two or three times in the early 90's.

Even with the roads closed we tended to ride on the left anyway. Force of habit I guess. I always remember the massive righthander coming down of the mountain which you could take at huge speed by cutting the corner right off.

I also remember bumping my front wheel into Norman Wisdom as I was negotiating one of the narrow gates from the pits to the trackside.

in 1959
riders included , faustio coppi, jaques anquetil, federico bahomites, lousion bobet, andre darriade, raphael geminiani, truly the top men of there day
tom simpson was also present
this was isle of man week at its peak

the first race in 1936 was won by charlie holland no less

sorry but im pretty well into old cycling istory

to have had the likes of coppi visit your land is amazin in my eyes
ask some of the old bikies on the isle and see if they can remember.
i would love to talk to someone who had actually seen coppi ride his bianchi.
