I wouldn't say I'm a fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I will put in a good word for Brand:
at least he gives a shit about (and I hate the term but it's relevant here) "ordinary people."
His ideas may be confused and his manner can grate, but he is prepared to stick his head above the parapet and take up unfashionable causes such as voting reform, social housing etc. If nothing else, he is engaging the yoof with the business of politics, and that's got to be a good thing.
