It is not that old (1988), but one of my favourites is Colin Donnelly's record run over the Welsh 3000s: https://vimeo.com/79447455

I have an old video tape of the 1985 KIMM ( ? Two By Two ? ), recorded when the programme was broadcast in around 1987 / 1988. Plus a video of a t.v. broadcast of the first Buttermere Sailbeck race in 1985.
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

Great piece of film, captures the simplicity and pleasure of fell running perfectly

WOW! I had a go at this last summer and totally underestimated how hard it was, absolutely killed me and we didn't even finish it, so to see Colin bound along at a great speed doing the full route is astonishing, amazing. Fantastic short film, truly inspirational.

The footage of Colin at or near his best is great. However, if I'm understanding it correctly, it wasn't filmed during his record run but at various points on the route in May of the following year.

I'd love to see the film of the Buttermere Sailbeck from 1985 when Kenny Stuart was running.

That is interesting because several aspects of the film struck me as very odd for something implying (or at least encouraging viewers to infer) that it was filmed "on the day".
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
