Interesting name DLM - are you sure you are new to the forum?!!!!
Is this the race you are interested in?

definatley new but do look at the forum often, have been watching for a thread for the rombalds stride, the 25mile version.
Mud...
The Rombalds Stride event always attracts a lot of entrants - improbable as it seems, think 'hundreds' rather than 'dozens'. In fact, the first problem can be managing to get a parking space, as there are bouncers who guard the Aireborough Leisure Centre carparks to prevent any Rombalds Striders from using them. Because of the size of field, and because many entrants are walkers, there's no need to worry about coming last. If you've entered, you ought to have received details of the course. Basically, it goes from Guiseley through the woods to Esholt, skirts Baildon, crosses Rombalds Moor to Ilkley, and returns via Burley Woodhead, Menston and Otley Chevin. Let me know if you need any further details and I'll be glad to help. I did it a couple of years ago and am scheduled to do it again this year.
cheers tussockface, as for not liking mud that's the brown sloppy stuff, i actually like the group.
DLM Think the runners field is usually limited to 400. Not sure how many walkers take part. The checkpoints are fabulous, lovely cakes!!!
Ran the course from Weechers res yesterday, it's in pretty good nick after Whetstonegate. Up to Whetstonegate from Weechers it's the usual gloop.
Great event though.
