The kit list seemed advisory rather than mandatory. However I think that we might be starting out in full gear anyway.
Walked the climb up the Chevin a week or so ago and it was very, very greasy.
See everyone bright and early on Saturday.
What time is registering from again?
0730 to 0830 the event starts at 0900.
Just looked at the forecast and it says light snow and -2 degrees at 0900.
Looking forward to it! It's fairly ironic that, of all the LDWA events I do, this one is the closest to where I live, and it has the latest start time. It's a lie in!!! Hope the wind's not too bad on the moor - could be a trifle nippy!

Bugger. Just found out about this event - I live in Ilkley and have been wanting to get involved in racing for a while. I guess I need to get off my a**e and join a club so these things don't pass me by! That or visit the forum a bit more often.
Anyway, had a fantastic run this morning on the other side of Wharfedale - mine were the first footsteps in the snow which is always good; met a forumite and his dog along the way too (hi Guick Dotto). There was a very nasty looking cloud coming down into the valley over Ilkley moor when I was on my way back down - hope it wasn't too grim up there for you all!
It was horrible out there today! I've been struggling with injury for a few weeks so wasn't expecting to have a great run anyway, but I found the underfoot conditions really difficult, especially between Weecher and Burley Woodhead.
I thought I knew the route perfectly, but the covering of snow meant that I made of mess of getting from Baildon Moor trig point to the next checkpoint at the cattle grid. Serves me right for feeling smug as I watched the leaders going a longer way down from the trig point than they had to do!
Once past Burley Woodhead it was easier and I managed to get my head round picking up the pace a bit again.
It started snowing quite hard just after I went through the Surprise View car park so I was glad I was nearly finished by then.
How did everyone else get on?
That felt hardAgain pretty steady until Menston then it was just a case of hanging in there. I ran the whole race in a lined top and didn't feel like I was overheating except in the wooded section on the Chevin.
Some of the showers were a bit nasty - I really felt for those in shorts!
