    Run In' t lakes

Am thinking of taking a day off on friday and heading up to the lakes thurs night for a camp with the intention of going for a 4-5 hour run round the fells.

    Anybody got any recommendations???

I did Borrowdale at the weekend so avoiding there would be good!

There's cracking day out you can have in the Northwest Lakes which goes something like...

Braithwaite - Grisedale PIke - Hopegill Head - Whiteside - Gasgale Gill - Grasmoor (via side of Dove Crags) - Rannerdale Knotts - Whiteless Pike, Wandope - Eel Crag (aka Crag Hill) - Sail - Outerside - Barrow - Braithwaite

Some great ridge running, some steep climbs and loads of good, runnable ground. Marvellous.

Whatever you do, enjoy your day!

Fairfield Horseshoe out of Ambleside is a great 2.5 hour run. I also run Helvellyn out of Glenridding, up striding edge and down swirrel edge - a spectacular 2 hour-ish run which starts with a massive (but runnable) climb, although technically 'running' striding edge is not possible.

About 4-4.5 hours with a few stops, steady pace and carrying a small rucksack. Quite a few streams en route after Whiteside so no need to carry much fluid at the start, just enough to get you that far
