UNDER 23 CHAMPIONSHIP - AGE RULING.

In the British and English Championships, the Under 23 Championships is open to runners between 18 and 23. The FRA Handbook clarifies the lower age as being age on January 1 of the Championship year, but there is no clarification for the upper age, and this has led to some confusion.

Because we are now part way through the Championships, the FRA Committee and the CMG have agreed to publish clarification through this website, and we have decided that the rule should be that the upper age is defined as the age on January 1 of the Championship year.

Please note that this rule applies to the 2007 Championships only, and that the situation will be discussed further by the Committee and the rules applying to the 2008 championship will be published in the 2008 FRA Handbook, and may be different.
