It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.. You'd have thought streamlining their product line would make them more efficient at production and offer a lower price and be more competitive. As it is they make so many types and chop and change constantly.. Salomon have seemed to stick with a few tried and tested shoes and occassionally throw in new types but the speedcross and sense's have remained pretty constant.
The last company put in 13 million, so probably took a chunk more to sell.
You cant see trail shoes alone unless they start to push the international market which is going to get harder with Salomon remaining dominant and now many other makes coming to the fore in Scott, Raidlight, Hoka and then the traditional road shoe makers.
It would be nice if they could get the sizing sorted at least.
Chinese shoe company, sold to a Japanese company. Meh!
I hope it all works out and everyone lives happily ever after. Truly
Not sure where you got the Chinese part from. Inov-8 were actually started in Weardale, County Durham (Stanhope I think). Their HQ is now in Crook. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the investment company has only sold it's SHARE of the business to the Chinese investors, as they never owned the whole company anyway. It's all based around the management team trying to bring in investors to the company to take it forward- similar to Dragon's Den!
Sad how people have to be so negative all the time. Made in China isn't necessarily what it used to be anyway and besides, I don't see any British made Salomon/La Sportiva/Asics shoes around..?
The (British) team at Inov-8 are obviously trying to move the company forward, so cut them some slack and wish them luck!

P.S. Greg, there's an easy way to sort out the sizing..... go into a shop and try them on!
