The lack of support killed them. They got to Wasdale on schedule but lost time on 4 due to nav issues and lack of water and were forced to abandon at Kirk Fell. One of the three continued to complete over time.

2 of us went ahead at Dunmail meaning the 3rd picked up the pacers/nav in order to carry on accompanied. This was ok for leg 3 as I know it well but for 4 it wasn't so good and lots of mistakes were made early on, plus we ran pretty dry so decided to drop down to Black Sail for water and then traverse to Honnister. Big shame as we felt fine but there wasn't enough time to head back up and carry on. Hat off to Geoff for getting round albeit out of time, great effort

As 1 of the pacers on leg 1 and 2 hats off to you boys for getting so far. 3 of you attempting and only 1 pacer per leg is always going to be challenging, as inevitably you will all have a pace you are comfortable with and all go thru good and bad patches at different stages. It was a good night out, although disappointed you didn't make it. You all have it within you to get round I'm sure of that, and it was good to meet and chat with you boys.Second your chapeau to Geoff, Mark - he's a pretty tough cookie! Looking forward to your next attempt cheers

Thanks for your help Mark you did a great job of getting him through 1 and 2, lovely to meet you. As you say it was always going to be difficult on pace with 3 contenders and 1 pacer per leg! looks like it'll have to be next year now....
