I can't think of a chippy anywhere near the A590 off the top of my head. Plenty in Kendal and one in Coniston but a little out of your way.
Not a huge amount of scree around in the Duddon valley nor the Furness fells but there is some nonetheless. Of course I have no way of knowing where the course will take us so can't really advise but I'm sure you will encounter some loose rock at some point in time!

There's a chippy in Greenodd next to the agricultural supply shop just after you turn off the A590 onto the A5092.

Yes. On the LEFT immediately after crossing the River Crake.
You beat me to it whilst I was checking which "Seathwaite" the LDMT was centred on.
I'd check the opening times - I seem to recall finding it closed at one point in the past.

Alternatively, The Square Café on the main square in Broughton-in-Furness appears to keep 'normal day-time shop hours' through the weekend.

I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

I am planning on camping at Turner Hall Farm and having a stroll down to the pub.
