Bury human waste as described by IDP, but burn the paper - otherwise the varmints dig it up apparently. Dogs, foxes & maybe badgers I guess.

It's not just a case of the time that banana skins take to decompose.

Talk to Joss Naylor and he will tell you about some of the large vets' bills incurred in removing banana skins from sheeps' digestive tracts - they just can't cope with them and they become extremely ill. I'm guessing this will also apply to many species of wildlife ..... as in IDP's post, bananas are an alien plant form that our livestock and wildlife have not adapted to.

I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

I normally use moss. Much more eco-friendly. Also I tend not to have any loo roll when I'm caught short out running.

I've carried an Ipood for years, though Apple weren't too keen on the name.....great bit of kit and never leave home without it (camping that is!).

Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

you have a fine digging implement in your running shoes. find a tussocky area and kick in around the base, easy to make a curry sized hole. do the biz and bury.

whats important is do it lower down rather than on the tops, these tend to be rockier and have less bacteria to break down your crap..if you have to go higher then dig shallow so the soil can be warmed by the sun to aid the process.

Putting a rock on it in a boulder field will stop the moisture and prevent nature breaking it down.

Paper is always tricky, yes I burn mine too but we encourage DofE and other groups to carry it out in a plastic zip lock bag.

The third post by Ian is right..

Take anything that isn't a part of the eco system.

But.. I'm sorry to say I tend to just shit far away from the path and drop a stone on it! Obviously never leaving papers or anything like that.

Pull your cheeks apart and reduce the requirement for any paper !

Do you think Vegans could argue that their poo is environmental friendly and don't have to carry or bury ?
