    Northern 4 Inns - 50 mls

    4 Inns - 50 miles - 20 summits - 12,000'

    Mark Dalton and I took advantage of the amazing weather last week to tick this off in a steady 17-41. The idea was conceived as a v65* unsupported birthday bash (very belated due to injury!) linking the Kirkstone Pass Inn to the Hill Inn via the Cross keys and the Moorcock Inns. The backbone of the route was a traverse of 9 Marilyns spanning the Eastern Lakes, the Howgills, Mallerstang and 3 Peaks country plus a few more summits to make it challenging. Plenty of rough,soggy, pathless Fellsmanesque terrain to contend with so we didn't make last orders at the Hill Inn.
    It makes a great companion to the Tan Hill to Kirkstone Pass route with which it coincides (in reverse) for a good part. Full details should appear on the gofar site in due course.

    * That's me not Mark!
