Nights are drawing in, time for some new head torch chat
What's new in the world of head torches, or has nothing changed since Feb??

As a starter for 10, anyone tried this new Alpkit 550 lumen job?
https://www.alpkit.com/products/prism-550
Might be good. Always liked the old alpkit light which was feeble by cpmparison. But brightness isn't everything, i have got a fenix which is very bright but narrow bam, need to use a diffuser when running to get a wider view.
This looks interesting, not too expensive and you can spec it various ways, different lenses and emitters if you are fussy.https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/l...mp-bikelight#/
My HopeVision 2 which puts out something like 450 lumens is still going strong after about 7-8 years. It cost me £100 brand new so that must be great value for money.

I think there was another thread on this a while back. I seemed to think Lensers were good. I think that's what mine is and I'm pretty pleased with it.
Yep - lots of good "old" threads on headtorches with excellent reviews - I started this one to find out what's new for this season, as LEDs are a fast moving technology! I really like my Led Lenser H7R, but my Nao is just too bright not to use.
Creaky - that Lucifer headlamp looks VERY interesting! The website is a good read too. Petzl could use some tips - especially the bit about battery level warnings! It would be interesting to hear of anyone who has actually used one...
if you really want to burn up the night try this one.

you can even charge your phone of the battery
not seen any independant reviews of the lucifer, unfortunately can not often tell if claims are true or light is fit for purpose except by buying it. been caught a few times like that myself, note Lumens arn't everything
Blimey - that is a serious piece of kit!
I'd go with the recommendations for a Lenser, maybe not that monster model though! Mine's an H7.
H7 a decent compromise me thinks
