    there's no need to rush mate, but it's not a bank-breaker - something around £20 for the race, there are various add-ons such as the shuttle bus, food the night before - but you could add these to your booking over a period of weeks.

    It's not sold out over the past couple of years - it's a bit of a niche interest

    Thanks for the replies. I'm a cash person so don't put a lot in the bank. Only enough to cover my direct debits

    You enter via the "Shop" tab/section, but it's not open until 1st January.

    My Fellsman entry pack has arrived - now I'm scared. A 58 yr old Fellsman virgin attempting to remove a local challenge from his bucket list.No time to recce much of it and light training - what can go wrong?

    MattPo , nothing can go wrong. Just entered my husband who is 71 and will also be a Fellsman virgin. Tried to reccee bits last weekend but snow too deep to be very useful

    Another oldie here,66,going to have a look at few bits next week, particularly the way off Great Whernside.Any thoughts on avoiding the bog?

    The 'way' off Great Whernside is generally to follow the wall and aim south

    As far as bog is concerned there's not much after Great Whernside at all. The bog most people worry about is at Fleet Moss but pretty much everyone avoids route one across the peat bogs at Fleet Moss nowadays and takes the lower line along the fence/wall line towards Middle Tongue.

    Thanks for that,I remember some years ago it wasn't too good !
    Fleet moss,seems to be quite a trod now across the lower route.
