I hadn't realised it had been at Edale before, both times were before I was a club member.
Upper Derwent Valley would be superb.
Bring on leg 3 on Bleaklow...

I merely posted an extract from my article which referred to the provenance of the relay. In fact it was also at Edale in 2000 since when the hosts have been:

    2001 Llanberis (Wales)
    2002 Langdale
    2003 Church Stretton
    2004 Hayfield
    2005 Alva (Scotland)
    2006 Castle Carr (Calder Valley)
    2007 Bowland
    2008 Clwydian Hills (Wales)
    2009 Ennerdale
    2010 Lomond Hills (Scotland)
    2011 Kettlewell
    2012 Church Stretton
    2013 Llanberis (Wales)
    2014 Howgills
    2015 Pendle

    Graham
    interesting list.
    i've done all but 4.
maybe it would be good to try and get it other locations apart from the usual areas.
    South Downs, Exmoor,Northumberland for instance

I'm not so familiar with the peak district having only gone to a few events there, mainly through junior FRA or Inters. I'm sure there are some good options.

I don't know if the clubs around the Howgills are looking at this an an option, but Sedbergh is a great venue if the facilities at the school can be used. I suppose we weer so close last year it might be too soon to go back.

Looking forward to the Scottish adventure. Had a great recce weekend when last there travelling up Friday to Kinross and camping.
Saturday reccied the long leg and Sunday we all did the Lomonds of Fife race which was a great day out.

Has a location been identified yet?

There was a superb mud slide at the end of the legs last time it was in the Howgills, which caused a lost and found incident with a wedding ring

I particularly appreciate that Calder Valley is shown as a separate country, in parentheses, akin to Wales and Scotland.

    Bill

    My pleasure!

As I recall, driving along the access road felt like journeying to another country.
