Fair one, I didn't look at any specs to check battery life.

If you don't mind an older looking design, and a bit chunky, then the Garmin 310XT ( a triathlon watch ) has a 20 hour battery and is pretty bombproof, and can now be had new for under £150.

The Garmin 910XT and 920XT are newer versions and considerably more new, but you could pick up a 910 2nd hand I'd have thought.
The Suunto Ambit 3 can be reconfigured in Movescount from the default of 8 hours with “best” accuracy (1 second recording intervals), to 12 hours with “good” accuracy (5 second interval), or even 25 hours with “OK” accuracy (60 second intervals). However on that budget it probably would need to be second hand. There maybe some deals this weekend, worth an online browse I recon. They are pretty robust. I have had one almost a year now and really like it. It is Always accurate as well.

Just to clarify, that's 10 hours in full GPS mode. I've done 3-4 hour runs and it's lasted another couple days without charge.
