Everyone will need a copy of the Calderdale Way Guide book.
Cheers Pike
Its also marked on the OL21 South Pennines.
Any chance of and Alty team Swoop?
which teams are entered so far
The race does not always go to the swift, but to the ones who keep running
Hot off the press, new for 2007:
Leg 2:
You must walk through the riding stables. A marshal will be here taking numbers and any team seen running through here will be given a 5 minute time penalty.
Leg 6:
From Southowram, go down West Lane and Change Lane as normal, but do not follow the signposted Calderdale Way halfway down Change Lane (which goes left through the fields at Exley) but keep on the road all the way down past the school on your left to the junction. Turn left into Backhold Lane, then first right down Exley Bank (steep cobbled road) to the main road. Then continue as before, i.e. cross Jubilee Road, then go right through gap in the wall, etc.
From Halifax Harriers...
Almost 70 entries have now been registered for theCalderdale Way Relay 2007.
100 teams is the absolute limit - without exception.
In order to avoid disappointment, check with your secretary / team leader to ensure your club has been entered.
Team leaders have been sent an information pack along with entry confirmation, containing explicit instructions regarding rules, kit requirements, leg cut offs and route changes, etc.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALL GET A COPY OF THESE FROM HIM/HER.
After complaints from locals and land owners, there are some very drastic route changes this year, especially towards the end of leg 6 where the route will leave the Calderdale Way for a large section after Southowram.
These are highlighted in the information pack sent to team leaders and will also be posted on the website at www.halifaxharriers.co.uk.
Have a great day out with Halifax Harriers
Does anyone have working links to marked-up maps for each leg?
Last year the Horwich site had excellent maps but the links no longer work.
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.
we had to walk through the stables last year on leg 2
