    Shoes yet again

I've just worn out another pair of Walsh PB racers. I use them for everything including local runs, runs in the hills (all types of terrain), three season hill walking and Himalayan trekking. I've never owned any other type of fell shoe (I like to buy British when I can) and I've always found these fit me like carpet slippers, yet this last pair has given doubts about breathability and how long they last - I always used to get two soles out of a pair, but not any more. Should I jump ship and look at other makes? Thoughts welcome.
    Thanks
    Tim

if you have a fit like slippers, you would be deeply dissapointed if anything else didn't give the same comfort. some runners are never happy with their shoe fit, so i would be a happy bunny and stick with your current shoes.

i had walshes and got on with them OK, and just bought some mudrocs by another british company Inov8 (although not made in Uk) and having just cracked out a few miles in snowdonia straight from the box, i found them mega comfortable and no problem, certainly worth popping to teh shp and trying them on

I've been a bit surprised at how quickly I've worn the studs down on my Walshes. I think partly because I've worn them for a lot of races with sections of road and gravel path, which seem to have damaged them a fair bit. I think a pair of Inov-8 Mudrocs for these races would have been a better bet.

I don't think Walshes have ever been any more, or less breathable though?

Recommending carpet slippers to the forum Otis, I never thought i'd see the day, how can you ever post again. Next you'll be suggesting that we spend our money on scratchcards and Lambert & Butler fags.
