But if you're doing a lot of driving in traffic, thats not real driving anyway, so you are excused an automatic under those circumstances.
GM, you'd love DSG coz it's got TWO clutches!! (It's used in the Veyron, so it's an advanced piece of kit. Changed my view on auto's forever).

    I tried both.
Automatic are boring, I would risk to fall asleep.

    this

    emm those discos are shite
we have two at work and you wouldnt want the repair bills never mind servicing
    our boss offered me his
the B service for the diesel automatic is £900
the synthetic oil alone is £150
we have a 54 reg with 100,000 miles on and its been into the land rover garage every month
if you want a 4x4 have a toyota hi lux , bulletproof , you know my blue one ive just swapped 101,000 miles in just over 2 years and not one problem , not even a light bulb
if you want to off road then borrow my navarra for the weekend

biggest problem ive had with this automatic is boredom
mine has auto cruise control that you can accelarate with a button on the steering wheel
you dont even need the accelorator
ie , IM JUST A JOCKEY
3500 miles in just over a month and no probs yet but calf is correct, more fuel consumption.
you tend to use the brakes a bit more cos autos tend to roll away a bit more as you slow down.

they are okay for the school run but in my opinion and ive had
    toyota hi lux
    mitsubishi
    ford ranger
    izuzu trooper
    land rover disco last model
    land rover latest model
the latest discos are very very expensive, last one we purchased from the dealer for about £27,000 + vat
my nissan navarra was £ 18,450 + vat
okay i have to go to cheltenham to have the top fitted at truckman which is a extra grand but in my view the disco is nothing more than a posers 4x4
the old land rovers were bulletproof but very basic

you need £81.00 to fill up the new disco and you wont get much more than 20 to the gallon even on the motorway , never mind what bullshit the dealer says
my new navarra needs £61.00 to fill it
the manual model hi lux neede £ 57.00
in these high fuel cost times be very carefull what you choose emm
