I should be there tonight all being well.
can I have a ride in the fire engine?

Just got to decide if to run to the race or drive. Does seem a shame to drive to it with it being so close.

    Great Stuff Tonight!!!
Well done Des & the massed ranks of Glossop Fire & Rescue Service...
Plus the other usual suspects, drafted for the night.. superb marshalling..
    Excellent course... magical weather..
Blooming heather to die for (and I did!)..
And Simon Bailey enjoying the whole show with babe in arms..

At the very classy Sharp End were...
    Blokes...
    1. Andie Jones
    2. Lloyd Taggart
    3. John Brown
    Lassies...
    1. Jackie Lee
    2. Lisa Lacon
    3. Katherine Harvey...

Unfortunately Mark S tackled Derbyshire Grit fingers first and was whisked off by men in Green Uniforms... hopefully not too fractured...

What a superb race - and what a quality field. It's not every day that you turn up for a little local race and see Road Runner, Lloyd, John Brown, Si Bailey... You should've seen the look on Phil W's face - I think he was ready to turn round & go home!

It'll probably be a few years before that record's broken. Top quality field & perfect running conditions made for a very fast race (not for me, though).

Thanks to Des & his merry team.

Just hope Mark's fingers make a speedy recovery (1 broken & 1 dislocated, I think).

So in the end I drove to the race, but did have to call at Tescos at way home for food!

What a perfect night for a nice short fell race. Bloody good field assembled for the first runnng of the event which will hopefully grow bigger and beter over time.

Great little race :-) Especially enjoyed the steep little descent near the start - then later the dawning realisation that we had to go back up it! I'll have to do a walk round there with the family - never actually been to the wormstones and Harry Hut before.

I make it about 350m ascent (1150') - don't tell anyone it was over 4 miles though, otherwise the juniors wouldn't have been able to run.

Just had an email from Mark Smith - he dislocated his little finger and he has a hairline fracture in his ring finger. But they're all back in position, now.

    Fantastic race, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Those lovely purple hills in the evening sunshine are not quite so cuddly when you get close-up to them, are they?

Many thanks to Des and everyone else involved in the organisation.

Does anybody where/when the results might appear on t'internet...?

    Re: Wormstones

Reading this thread makes me a little homesick but alas. I remember as a school kid tramping off up to wormstones and rockclimbing with the scouts. Worn rope and a scout leader who you assumed knew what he was doing - not.

Ran up there many times and well done to Des for getting a fell race going around that route.

Sounds like a great field assembled - RR you normally go to the chippy after these short races. Tescos for food??! - you on a healthy eating plan?
