There's a lovely write-up by Graham of his record JNC run on that internet. I will find it again and try to post a link. Well worth reading

    Great run.

Interesting that Graham chose to do this solo.

The JNC, like the Bob Graham, has a base stipulation for "membership" and the award of the tankard as outlined on the website:

Most fell runners find rules tedious and although anyone can do the route unsupported and in their own time there are a few requirements to be satisfied if attempts are to be validated and tankards awarded. This is intended to be a supported run for individuals with a pacer on each leg for safety reasons. It is not a group event.

I hope he won't be disappointed......

Knowing he set a new record should be consolation enough for possibly not receiving a tankard

    well done Graham!

After 10 years of conversations in my capacity as Secretary of the Bob Graham Club with fell runners who want membership on their terms rather than on the (very few) published "rules" that need to be satisfied to complete that challenge, you might be surprised by how important both the recognition and the certificate is to many people. I can't speak for the tankard.....

That's why I'm interested when someone decides to depart from a published and encouraged approach, especially one with it's roots in personal safety.
