    Fuel consumption

So if I drive 25 miles in one hour and then another route 40 miles in one hour, do I use the same amount of fuel?

That could still be the same though on both journeys. The longer distance could be lots of low-revs cruising.

I would assume both journeys were completed by the same driver, driving in a normal not numpty manor.

There's also the engines optimal work rate to consider alongside wind resistance.
