did this a few years ago. The run is on the road and pretty flat. The bike bit goes up the A6 to the Jungle Cafe which is now a caravan showroom on top of the hill just south of the dip into Borrowdale before Shap summit proper. £18 is quite good, don't think I've seen one for less than £15 in a while. Quite a few road race entries are into double figures now. Can't beat fell races for value for money, especially if you manage to get well placed and come away with a few cans! Best value race so far this year for me was Blencathra FR - £1 entry although no prizes or pins but priceless views
