I should imagine the course may be fairly undulating as it starts in Shap.
did this a few years ago. The run is on the road and pretty flat. The bike bit goes up the A6 to the Jungle Cafe which is now a caravan showroom on top of the hill just south of the dip into Borrowdale before Shap summit proper. It then returns by the same route so that it is uphill all the way out and down hill all the way back. You then repeat the same run, only slower!

Cheers, 90% certain I'm going to do this, have to get some decent speed training in looking at last years times.

Just noticed the cost, £18, you can get a few fell races in for that.

£18 is quite good, don't think I've seen one for less than £15 in a while. Quite a few road race entries are into double figures now. Can't beat fell races for value for money, especially if you manage to get well placed and come away with a few cans! Best value race so far this year for me was Blencathra FR - £1 entry although no prizes or pins but priceless views

Totally agree with you on that one, highlight of my fell running year so far. First ever lakes race as well.
