Has anybody got any recommendations for good trainers for road running? I haven’t done much training on road in the last year, and consequently just trained in racing flats (which are very comfortable but probably not a good idea for high mileage).
As my flat speed seems to have decreased as a result (only getting the same race times/positions as last year, despite being a lot faster on descents/steep climbs – with the exception being BOFRA races which don’t really have much flat stuff) I am going to try and get in a few more road runs this winter. Also, as I was in Manchester last year I didn’t go on club runs.
I used to like the old Nike Pegasus until they changed the design in around 2005. I found the new version too stiff along the arch and far too cumbersome. I tried Adidas supernova and found the much same with them: consequently confiscating them to a mucking about in shoe within a week.
I have thought about Mizuno or Puma perhaps? Roadrunner, don’t you train in Pumas?
Any suggestions welcome.
