Thanks Dave. That's a really interesting and simple to digest graphic.

interesting data, too....That's a really interesting and simple to digest graphic.
....it's all downhill from here.
Forgive me but does it indicate what percentage of each age group voted?
Let us hope it is more precise than his grasp of English.
I surveyed over 13,000 people on election day who had already cast their vote, to help understand how this extraordinary result came about.
Since the result was not known (extraordinary or not) when the survey was being carried out it could not be "to help understand how this extraordinary result..." although it could legitimately be to understand the result, whatever that was to be. So he is crediting himself with prescience that more accurately is "20:20 hindsight".
Still, Lord Ashcroft does have form on his flexibility with truth.
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
no it doesn't, but this suggests "the highest level for a quarter of a century" of 18-24 year olds.Forgive me but does it indicate what percentage of each age group voted?
I'm not sure the data are available at the moment, though.
As GB points out, the Lord Ashcroft data is a poll, so not stats. Again, I don't think these are available yet.

If it's like the referendum a higher percentage of the grey voters turned out than the younger groups. Suggests the young are still disengaged.
hard to say for sure at the moment. Overall turn-out was about that of the last election, but looking at the maps, some constituencies had 75% turnout.....Probably best to wait for the stats to come out, but you might not be wrong....a higher percentage of the grey voters turned out than the younger groups.

Writing in the Observer, Mr Corbyn said his own election campaign had successfully re-set the terms of debate and his manifesto would be seen as "historically important".
I wonder how many labour or ex-labour voters are reading the observer this morning???
