I'm hoping the polls are broadly correct because if Labour won under Corbyn it would be very bleak for the UK economy. Rather than the needs of the many we would soon have the poverty of the many. We had old style socialism here in the 1970's. It didn't work then and it wouldn't work now. High tax rates on the rich didn't raise enough revenue and the UK had to be bailed out by the IMF. I suppose this is ancient history to a lot of people.

I'm also amazed that so many are happy to over look Corbyn's terrorist supporting past not to mention that of John McDonnell and Diane Abbott.

Bravo, the first Daily Mail reference in the thread.

There is a mountain of evidence if you were actually interested. Here are some from the Blogger Guido Fawkes. Not sure if they all check out but then again there are a hundred.

At least Corbin only supported terrorists unlike Adams and McGuiness who actually were.... allegedly.

This is something I have not felt for a long, long time. Strange days indeed.....
I think it all depends on how many young people actually go out to vote. The portrayal of Corbyn in some sections of the press as a ridiculous and dangerous figure with outrageous policies might actually make him more attractive to some younger voters who want to get back at the "Establishment" (including for Brexit, now seen as an Establishment plot to deprive the young of their future). And since calling the election, Theresa May has had an air of arrogance which she didn't have before (or at least, not compared to a previous female leader of the Tory party).

I too will be voting for education, NHS, security and a hopefully bright future.
Needless to say I will not be voting for a party whose policies would financially ruin the economy in very short order meaning that all those institutions would be in even more trouble than they are now.
I'm doing my best to ignore the mudslinging, just like with the referendum. Its policies that count.

I look forward to finding out what the Tories' policies are, once the election is over. They seem to have changed a couple of times in the last 6 weeks!

My view is that there is one overriding issue here and that is negotiating the best Brexit deal possible, this is a one off opportunity, most other things can be changed later. I also think TM should have declared she would only stand for a 3 year term essentially just asking for a better mandate for negotiations with the EU.

I have never known a general election generate so much passion and debate. People at work who don't normally discuss politics have been getting into heated debates and sometimes we have had to step in to calm things down. My heart says Labour but I think the Tories are going to squeeze in by 20 to 30 seats. It's going to be a late night watching the coverage.

    I've just done the deed.
I voted for the one who lived closest to me.
Reason being if I need to contact him, it's a short walk.
