I want to believe that no one in their right mind would come onto a fell runing forum expecting a detailed debate on macro-economics.I want to believe that guy who says things in short paragraphs without using excessive hyperbole.

....it's all downhill from here.
Dave you’re so wrong
Neither do I want to present detail Dave.
I'm happy to just state as facts: the abuse of the union by Germany , the flood of money back to Germany, which at 2bn a week really would be a big train full of banknotes each week whether you dislike that imagery or not, and casualty economies are hurt in the process. The euro is the problem, and Italy is on the verge Of collapse because of debt.
Trouble is, remainers first deny it, then get rude about me , then demand proof and when they see it argue the proof is too technical or wordy. I had all the same problems explaining how sub prime and CDI were getting dangerous in 2005/6. When I said back then banks would collapse I was called a nutter! I cried all the way to the bank. Useful things are shorts on spreadbetting!
So I will go back to what I first said: The Euro, EU and Italy are screwed. Italian banks are on the verge of collapse, and the contagion will get dangerous not least because of silly EU banking rules. Populist euro elections may see it unravel when bond markets get spooked. We need out as soon as possible. Those are my last words on the matter.

I'm going to wear my number on my shorts at my next race!
that should flush him out.

Maybe - and the whimsical, light-hearted contributions of AI to these pages are certainly missed; but I don't think he has returned under the guise of Oracle.
Oracle's posts are far too terse and pithy and lack the humorous, but modest, droll wit and irony that AI was noted for - and, of course, AI's willingness to humbly respect the points of view of other respectable commentators of equivalent erudition.
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
in the light of the last post I humbly accept that you were right DT.Dave you’re so wrong

Group hug!!
Hey, maybe I'm slow on the uptake here but I've just sussed why the situation has been delayed so that we have to take part in the european elections. Candidates putting themselves up for election are going to have to state whether they are pro-remain or leave. The results of the elections and the ratio of remain/leave winners will be a second referendum-by-proxy! Duh....why did I not figure that out before??!
