How far do you reckon, Duncan. I get 10.5 miles and 2730ft ascent.
Felt much further - it must have been the heather!!
And, unlike you, I didn't hitch a ride on an arctic hare!

Nowt ails a good bread eater!
I got 18.3km/640m, so around the 11mile/2200ft mark (I went clockwise)
Cracking day out, thoroughly enjoyed myself on a great course!
I've got a scan of the map if you want to pm me your e-mither [forgotten your name].
here's what I did!

I have 11.2 miles and 2,520' of ascent (clockwise, not that it should make any difference with the same start/finish!)
ba-ba, thanks for the offer of the map, I'll send you a PM in a mo.
Just about to have my tea, washed down by a bottle of the excellent Trig Point Ale I got a couple of weekends ago!!
Cheers
Jim
Many thanks to Andy and the team for organising a cracking race / course. My first time, and loved it.
Just to fuel the debate , anti clock wise definitely was the way to go......
11.7 miles 3063ft according to the Forerunner.
And you set off to Ashop before remembering to drop down to 8 as well! I think that last section from 9 down to Little Hayfield saved a lot of mileage if you compare it to something like http://connect.garmin.com/activity/64584054
I'm still buzzing from the good line from 3 down to 8 having spoken to those who flogged out to 8 from 5. Some more creative types did 10, 5, 8 and 2 using the good track up from 8 to the farm.
Anticlockwise definitely felt good and finishing through 3, 8, 12, up the trods to 4 and out to the road from 9 was an elegant and fast paced solution. Now I just need to practice running faster Having you on my heels for two hours helped keep the pace good!
As my MM partner says, decide on the finish and rest of the route sorts itself out!

I went anticlockwise pretty much the same route as Ba-Ba except for coming more down the ridge/trods down Leygatehead Moor. I must admit that your route staying high to K3 then dropping back to K8, etc didn't occur to me at all but it does look good.
I feel like it was quite hard going now; think I need more anaesthetic ;-)
Results now available on the URL below. Thanks to Andy for getting these to me quickly.

The flog from 8-5 looked much more inviting than the flog from 8-3 or 8-10 imo!
I also quite fancied the 4km of rapid running that #7 to the finish offered - I always enjoy pinning the ears back whilst flying down hills like Tunstead, even more so when there's a couple of folks on my tail to try and shake off!

I enjoyed that run in too, but when I was coming down, the surface had melted, but it was frozen deeper down making for a very slippery descent.
A good run on the last bit with Dutch Peaks - I hope you enjoyed your day out Hanno.
Some pictures on my blog here and I have included a link to a Google Earth version of my route, at the end of the post, so that you can see where I made my mistakes ;-)
