Definitely was going for a change of shoes if required at "half way" dry clothes would be great at least for a mile until soaked through again.

Cracking bit of advice! I was blooming frozen in the village hall and my mate was forcing hot tea and soup down me while trying to get me to sit on a radiator to warm up 50miles is a long way to run on Kia-Ora and custard creams

Also being serious I'm sure it will help mentally knowing you have change of gear waiting and then feeling much better after leaving checkpoint too and then hopefully having the end in sight by the time you are wet and cold again.

Paul - I think a dry hat, pair of gloves, socks shoes et al after 30 miles is more than a mental boost - It won't be soaking you through to the skin and will take more than a mile to get saturated again.

It's the one and only thing I'd wished I'd had the foresight to sort.

Wouldn't bother with spare clothes. They'll get wet soon enough, and you'll stiffen up trying to get into them. Better to crack on as soon as you've necked 5 or 6 lukewarm cups of tea (in a vain attempt to get some circulation going).

Weather looks epic (again). I did think it couldn't be worse than last year. I may have been rather wrong...

    Stop trying to confuse me

Having given it some thought I'll be opting for clothes that will come off go on easily.

That is my way of doing things get to comfortable mid way and it is mentally hard to get going again, there is no bigger motivator than knowing that there is only another 25 miles before dry clothes food rest and the end to a great day out.

Yep at that point you know you can doi it because you have just done 25 mile so the final bit is easy peasy.
