I did this a couple of years ago and found navigation to be no problem at all given the number of people enroute. For those not accustomed to this sort of distance the refuellling is essential and great except I found the check point at ???? can't remember where it was, about 3/4 of the way round was short on food.
There are some muddy fields that prove very hard to run through but it is mostly OK.
If you like hills then this doesn't really have any to speak of although the country side is pleasant enough.
It took me just over 9 hours and if I were to do it again then I would go for the later start as I think that runing in the light at the start would be quicker anyway. I knoiw a few people who do it year in year out as they enjoy the "plod" nature of it. I myself shan't bother unless I'm feeling on top form, and given that I am devoting November to short running in X-country races that is unlikely to bbe the case!
