On last Thursday's CTC ride to Knott End, the morning coffee stop was at Old Holly Farm, just off the A6 at Cabus. I could not resist a helping of throdkin ...... I certainly did not need much lunch on arriving at Knott End.

Yes, raw vegetables. When I've chopped the veg for a stir-fry, I can't resist taking a few pieces out to eat raw, which really annoys my wife.

Oh my days: throdkin. Great word; I’d never heard (of) it before your post WD

    DT et al,

    Throdkin ...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throdkin

The "Old Holly Farm" take on this traditional dish includes:- bacon, black pudding, a poached egg plus a good spoonful of honey.

Similar local dish to your throdkin, I am rather addicted to lava bread (seaweed). I go down to Swansea market to buy it fresh, mix with oats overnight, then I cook in butter with some bacon, cockles and plenty of pepper, sometimes an egg also.
I try to save it for a weekend treats!

So: forget about gels or the 5:2 diet: we want to know what is the effect on fell running performance of having throdkin for breakfast.
