Eugene had to retire/withdrawn from race, 6km from the finish...
Apparently there's a feature and short interview on BBC breakfast at 8.30 in the sports round-up.
If anyone wants to skip back on iPlayer, the interview ended up almost bang-on 9, after about 20 mins ‘in just a moment, Jasmin Paris…’ from the presenters (presumably whilst someone from BBC Edinburgh frantically tried to wake her up).
also, gutted for Eugene, poor fella.
On Facebook, Pavel described Jasmin leaving CP4, solo and with no sleep as 'an extremely bold move'.
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how future races play out now. I think Jasmin has to some extent rewritten how the race can be run (i.e. with virtually no sleep). Incredible that she's seemed so with it and in in complete control of herself and the race.Originally Posted by gej
