First off, to mention Mike Cudahy's book, Wild Trails to Far Horizons (published 1989). Just started reading it and I'm hooked.

Of course Mike Hartley took his Pennine Way record which still stands (please correct me if I'm mistaken).

On Fetch Everyone is the text of an article Mike wrote for Macclesfield Harriers (which I think appears in an old thread on this forum from 2011 or so), here: https://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewto...39808&page=392

He mentions setting the Dales Way record in 1989 and Dennis Berrisford improving on it.

The Clayton le Moors newsletter from June 2014 mentions it too, here: http://www.claytonlemoors.org.uk/wp-...etter-2014.pdf

It says "Congratulations due to Denis Beresford for regaining his Dales Way record in
May – 12 hours 44 mins for the 81 miles. "

Anyone know of any further information relating to this, or of any faster time on the Dales Way before or since?

Cheers

Ben
