You wont remember this, but "when I was a lad" he said in a croaky voice..Tomorrows world produced special documentaries they showed on (you guessed it) April 1.
The first was not so bad, showing a revolution in the development of spaghetti trees in asia, all abundant with the crop.
The next year they had footage of rock worms on mars. (Nobody seemed to question how anyone took a photo of a rock worm on mars, it should be said, but I digress). But because most of the viewing public were talking about it , actually believed it, they decided in the public interest to stop doing such spoofs!!
I wonder whether the crowds for the "blackpool ironwork relay" are what decided FRA to put a halt to April 1 events!
