Did this lovely little race today for the first time.
No Plums, no Fair but plenty of scampering. Top scamperer was Jake Fearn of Buxton AC.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
Good wasn't it? Last time for me was in 2015. I had another go at the coal sack race afterwards as well. I was astounded at how fast some (most) of them sprinted up that hill, faster than I could do even without 25kg on my back. As for my puny effort, first I could hardly get it up (the sack onto my shoulder), then I shuffled from the line with the other two Glossopdale Harriers in my heat rapidly disappearing up the hill, and that was after one of them tripped and fell and I overtook briefly. Before the top I was barely able to walk with chest bursting (not with pride) and head about to explode.

Still no Plums, still no Fair and now no Padfield but still plenty of scampering from the new start/finish in the field opposite the Windy Harbour.
A shorter race now of just over 4 miles and 850 feet but it has lost none of its charm and is still a fast runnable little bugger.
Top scamperer this year was 18 years old Eammon Clowes of Newcastle,Staffs AC in 29:59. The first lady was Joanne Mosley, one of our RATRunners, 14th overall in 36:01. I was 8th and 1st M60.
I had a brief but nice chat to Mrs Noel who was second lady.
Looking forward to my next race which will be Rhobell Fawr on Saturday. Hopefully the weather won't be too wild this year and we can visit the summit.

Well done (again) Llani....
You must have a fair shot at doing some damage to the hour mark at Rhobell Fawr....?
Nice one LB. Mrs Noel passed on your regards.
She enjoyed it, but found it a bit too runnable. Very pleased with the flowering heather plant - ladies team prize.
