Amazing end to the stage - almost vueltaesque. Good to see G looking strong though it must be a worry that most of Ineos fell by the wayside and couldn't stay with the pace of Movistar. Elsewhere, two of my picks for the podium, Pinot and Woods, both finished well. Not so my other, Bardet, who on that form must surely now have lost any hope of an outright victory.

The Champs Elysees is often referred to as the most prized sprint stage in racing and Cav has 4, Sagan none, despite his many completions.

This clip showing Cav accelerate from the side is a cracker.

Sagan is extremely consistent and I'd probably say the best sprinting non-sprinter I've seen.

This year I'm not really that impressed by the sprinters at the TdF. They are either past their best like Griepel and Kristoff, or inconsistent like Ewan and Vivianni.
It will be interesting to see if Sagan can win that final stage for the first time.

    Cipollini

    Giro 42 wins
    Tour 12 wins
    Vuelta 3 wins.

He never bothered about Paris but he always had the best tan.

It would have been interesting seeing the Saeco train against the HTC one.

Possibly. But your still wrong, both in facts and opinions.

If you know your stuff you will know what the pinnacle is for sprinters and Cav is 4-0 up.

Let’s reset Stagger I do agree, Cavendish has won more, My opinion on Sagan is based upon his personality and upon the beauty of his finishing, I also like his attitude when he doesn’t win, he doesn’t bitch or whine, he just cracks on, now don’t get me wrong, there is a place in sport for a prima donna but Cavendish’s toddler like tantrums have sometimes made him hard to like.

As Witton P says, the shot of Cavendish accelerating from the side is something else, like the shots from above obviously the best place to see the pure power and speed, the front shots never do the sprint justice.

After a crash it has always been someone else's fault with Cavendish and getting Sagan disqualified from the Tour because of his own stupidity was beneath contempt.
