    Eccles Pike

    Eccles Pike race this Wednesday (15th) at 7:30pm. Starts from the Navigation Inn, Buxsworth, near Whaley Bridge (GR 821023 on OS Dark Peak Map) where you can get a rehydrating pint afterwards.

    I'll be there. First attempt at 6.30pm in about 40 min followed by the race at 7.30pm a bit quicker!

    Yeah, why the hell not. If I can escape from Derby early I'll pop across. In fact, might see if the Taggart going as well, I fancy beating him tonight. Haven't ran for a couple of weeks due to far too much cycling, so I guess I need to start back at some point, especially if I want to make the winning Dark Peak Hodgeson team....;-)

    Good race tonight. Got a few points in our club's wed night champs! Fanstastic having a number of printouts of the results circulating in the pub.

    Way ahead of the pack when I saw you...
    Lisa Lacon was going like a steam train too...
    Real cracker tonight, great turn out from Macc Lassies & Lads..
    Even a very select few from the Dark Side!!! (pot hunters mostly...!?)
    Plus a Bingley & Borrowdale vest...
    Surprisingly too (again!) 2 Sparkhill Lads from Brum... (is that the only hill?? what about Dudley?)
    Large smattering of Stockport track stars, showing "us" fell runners how it's done...
    Always a few tempting Pennine & Glossopdale vest to aim for in the near & far distance..
    There were the brave, young & "foolish" doing their first Fell Race...
    Well done Paul's Lad (1st Junior) & JoBo (not last!!!)...
    With that Jeff (blimmin...I don't believe it!!!!) N' gettin a spot prize....

    And Goyt Valley Striders & their very able team of helpers made it a night to remember... thanks to them for great eve.... could even get served quick in the Navvi!

    PS Don't forget Wormstones next Weds Eve... a Des G special... lots of pain & even more pleasure.... the delight of dashing thru' Gnathole should not be missed...

    PPS Phil's prize were reet good too, a naughty little red number, slipped down a reet treet on'th tow path, good suppin stuff, o'nt way 'ome like, under'rt cut bridge wiv Geoff B & Long Shanks GdL,.... only fell in't cut twice... thanks mate..
