    Alliteration

Here in Leicestershire we have the Huncote Hash, the Gaddesby Gallop and the Hoby Hop; and I'm sure there are plenty of similar examples around the country. The trend has even crept into fell-running, with Haworth Hobble, Eskdale Elevation, etc.

I want to start a new organisation: Athletes Against Alliteration. [Except that might remind some people of a former governing body of athletics that the FRA didn't always see eye to eye with.]

Almost every fell race on the North York Moors that Dave Parry (RIP) use to organise.

Blakey Blitz, Carlton Challenge, Gribdale Gallop, Guisborough Grunt, Ossy Oiks, Pinchinthorpe Plod to name a few and my personal favourite Eskdale Eureka.

Then, moving over to the Lakes you've got the Eskdale Elevation.

    And the Grisedale Grind.
