The First Crossing of Greenland by Fridtjof Nansen, picked up in a charity ship for £1 and just started.
When I was around 9/10 I was bought a collection of books, about the size of ladybird books. They had the tales of many of the better known explorers/adventurers like Marco Polo, Magellan, Cabot, Cook, Vasco de Gama....
There were around a dozen in the collection and I always found the story of Nansen and his ship Fram, trying to get it to the North Pole the most interesting one.
Haven't a clue whether I'll enjoy it, but we'll see.
