    Some Calder Valley Rounds

    Hello people,

Following some miserable experiences on my first few AL races this summer, I set out to design some local training routes around Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd which I believe (if I've done my maths right) to meet AL standard length/elevation/difficulty. I'd like to share these routes and see some of you take a crack at them as a set of challenges. The routes don't all necessarily hit specific landmarks (although they naturally do in some instances), they've been designed purely to hit as much elevation as possible.

It'd be nice to see people take on the routes if its interesting at all to any of you.

    The routes are as follows:

    Todmorden Round – approx. 20 miles / 1550m

    Start – Todmorden Town Hall – SD 93659 24137
    CP 1 – Stones Lane – SD 92595 23473

Hebden Bridge Round – approx. 18.5 miles /1550m

Start – Hebden Bridge Town Square – SD 99297 27265

    Rules

You are welcome to choose your own routes, but I have set up all the checkpoints to try to get the maximum amount of climbing, but you are welcome to pick your own lines and routes to get to each checkpoint.

If you do have an any attempts, please do post it in this thread along with a strava or garmin link so that the attempt can be verified (no stopping the watch, please use race mode in strava).

Other than that, have fun and hopefully it’ll make for some good training for anyone trying to get better at bigger fell races or Bob Graham rounds and things like that.

    Current FKT’s:

The current FKT for the rounds are as follows:

    Todmorden Round:
    Ricky Parrish - 4:10:10

    Hebden Bridge Round:
    No known attempts

    Mytholmroyd Double Round:

No known attempts (I have done it myself but my watch ran out of battery near with about 500m before the finish, so I can’t verify it, but my time was 3:14:48 up to that point.

I'm sure the times i'm posting can easily be smashed to pieces haha.

    thanks

Yeah i've been meaning to do that one for a while but i like putting my own routes together too. I have a few ideas for even bigger routes, but need to work up to that really as 20 miles is my biggest distance so far
