That to me is more relevant to what Andi has done this year. Based on 7 year old PB's I should probably have been top 5 rather than 66th .....

I wish Andi would have a serious tilt at the English / British champs, or better still the Buff Sky Runner series. I realise he's more interested in being a teacher / soon to be father.....

    Doubt it.

First GB tends to only post when he has something sensible or thought provoking to say and second he is a not-bad-for-his-age-runner whereas YT just talks a good race.

I don't know the answer to that. However Ricky was obviously still running very well into the early 1980s judging by his marathon PB in 1981.

It is however interesting to compare their best times on Snowdon:

    1978 Ricky 1:04:28

    2007 Andi 1:05:36

Andi was faster to the summit than Ricky. I think Ricky's 1978 time for the descent is still the fastest.

However in 1977 Ricky's Snowdon time was 1:06:07.
So on Snowdon their times are very comparable.

Ricky also still holds the record from 1978 for the Saddleworth race which is only 3 miles. The short races were obviously his forte.

    Re: Lantern Pike Fell Race

firstly what a fabulous day out and race! I managed to trot round in 40.06, think with a few more jogs to tesco I can knock 10 minutes off for next year.

A really interesting debate on the forums but one thing that seems obvious to me, would the best track runners in this country ever want to risk running fells for fear of injury?

'roadrunnner' is a great talent and all credit for having the joint 2nd fastest time for this course. Has the route always been the same? What were the weather conditions like on the day of the best ever time?

    C Addison (maybe worth googling)?

Great to see the photos Pinno!
