One of the minor disapointments of running the championship races, is that you don't get to see what's going on at the front end. It's a shame the ICs and Nationals aren't televised, even a red-button jobbie.
Mark Hookway's (Tonbridge coach) videos on Youtube are OK to get an overview of what went on, if you have the time to spool through a bit.

Yes they really should be on tv.

It's a bit of a sad commentary on the sporting priorities of this country... you can dress up like an absolute muppet and walk the London Marathon in 7 hours, and you're virtually guaranteed tv coverage. But win the Nationals or Inter-Counties, and outside of Athletics Weekly you're unlikely to get even a column inch in a newspaper.

We have a few guys running in the Warwickshire team, which does look reasonably strong this year (although merely being "strong" is par for the course at that level!)

A glance through the start lists and there's some top fell names gracing the race tomorrow.

My mum enquired yesterday why I wasn't running the inter-counties...

Good racing today at Loughborough. I think the winner was that guy Mohammed from Southampton AC.

I believe the top three counties were...

    1 North East
    2 Yorkshire
    3 Hampshire

... But I stand to be corrected.

Plenty of fellrunning names on the start list but I only recognised Jez Brown running well for North Wales.

Standard appeared to be fantastic as you would expect.

My county inexplicably managed to not field a full team. Despite a county champs earlier this year with a couple of hundred people, and 15 names on the start list, only managed to field 5 people. I'll not be critical at all (especially as I'm trying to organise a county team for the Fells!), and I know four or five of the fastest guys were tempted to go and run a road race somewhere for money, but seems a massive shame...
